Matthew has dedicated his career to fighting for better jobs with fair pay and benefits for local families – while strengthening the local economy and expanding apprenticeship programs, job training and worker safety. He currently serves our area as a Labor Relations Representative in the Organizing Department for Laborers Union Local 89.

Matthew has stepped forward in the past as IB District 1 City Councilmember to help our community through the COVID-19 crisis. He served on the IB Mayor’s Task Force on Covid-19 Business Sub-committee Executive Team working to gather information from business community to make recommendations to reopen the local economy.

He rides his bike throughout the community reaching out to new business owners, residents and visitors. Matthew supports local business development, affordable housing and sewage pollution strategies. He works for you.
